Lonesome George.

This blog post is dedicated to the memory of Lonesome George.

Lonesome George was a Giant Tortoise who lived in the Galapagos Islands.

Lonesome George — an eternal bachelor — was the last member of a subspecies believed to date back 10 million years.  He passed away on Sunday.  George was 100 years old.

This week, in his honor, we will practice ‘Tortoise’ pose. Here is Tula Tween Yogini, Maya, doing the Lonesome George Tortoise pose:

I am grateful to all my fellow humans for keeping me company on our little planet we call earth.  RIP – LG.
