Don’t Yin and Drive.

Today was a brilliant mix: A ‘Biomechanics of Strength’ workshop followed by a Yin Yoga Nidra.

The ‘Biomechanics of Strength’ was led by Nathan Paulus.  Nathan’s cues and knowledge of the body make the most basic poses challenging and fascinating.  We worked on hopping into handstand from downdog with straight legs, which is harder than with bent knees. This was an introduction to the muscles utilized for piking up into handstand.


After the strength workshop, I took Rachel and David’s Yin Yoga Nidra.  I fell fast asleep and awoke feeling very heavy as if emerging from a well-deserved, perfectly timed nap. However, the drive home to Rogers Park from Logan Square was a little groggy.
